Waxing removes hair from the root, along with dead skin cells from the surface resulting in smooth, hair free skin for weeks. Regrowth is soft and fine - no ugly, sharp stubble and with regular waxing hair growth can become less frequent.

 

Warm (strip/soft) wax is the quickest way to remove hair from larger areas such as the legs but new generation Hot (non-strip/hard) wax is best for more delicate areas and shorter, stronger hairs.

Please note it can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a cycle that gives the best results. Please bear this in mind when planning your wax for a wedding, holiday or other special occasion.

BEFORE YOUR WAXING APPOINTMENT

​

Some hairs grow faster than others, so for best results allow them to grow for at least 2 to 3 weeks before your first wax so they are a minimum length of 3mm (a grain of rice).

​

Please do not trim before your appointment, this is not necessary and could mean that your hairs are too short. If hairs are too short for me to offer a satisfactory outcome for you on the day, regretfully I will be unable to carry out your treatment and you will still be charged.

​

Exfoliate and moisturise the area to be waxed regularly leading up to your appointment but leave the skin product free on the day. Pre and post care products will be applied as part of your treatment.

​

Avoid any form of tanning as well as steam rooms, saunas etc for a minimum of 24 hours before your wax.

​

Stop using any retinol/AHA/BHA based products or other skin thinning treatments at least 7 days prior to your wax.

​

Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment.

​

Try to reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake for the 24 hours either side of your wax to aid skin healing.

​

For your own comfort please arrive as clean, cool, calm and on time to your appointment as you can!

​

WAXING AFTERCARE

Small bumps and slight redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, especially if this is your first wax. These symptoms usually subside quite quickly but please keep the area clean and free from heat and friction over the next 24 - 48 hours so:

 

  Continue to wear loose, comfortable clothing.

No hot baths or showers, (lukewarm is fine).

No saunas, steam rooms or hot tubs.

No swimming in chlorinated pools.

No sport, gym or other vigorous exercise.

No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans).

Moisturise the area daily after showering and after a few days gently exfoliate the area several times a week to help prevent ingrowing hairs.

​

You may notice a small amount of regrowth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a cycle that gives the best results. Please do not shave, tweeze or use depilatory creams in between appointments as this interrupts the hairs natural growth cycle.

​

To maintain a smooth appearance I recommend regular waxing every 4 -6 weeks. Please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
